Working with wool allows for different knitting techniques, and three of them are incorporated in this pattern. For knitters interested in learning how to crochet steek, needle felt, and create a felted join, these techniques are explained through written instructions as well as a picture and video tutorials. Necessary skills before starting are casting on and off, knitting in the round, knitting and purling through the back loop, cabling, and single crocheting confidently.
Supplies needed: 9 mm/13 US circular needle with a 24″ to 36″ cable; one cabling needle, felting needle, and tapestry needle each; crochet hook approx. 6.5 mm (size K); one removable marker; nine stitch markers in sets of two, two, and five.
Not interested in steeking, needle felting, or crocheting? The throw will look the same if the stitch pattern is followed as written and the throw worked flat (back and forth). Felted joins are optional.
